A Fine Balance
This in-between week is for presence.
For soft mornings, quieter bodies, and time with the people who matter most.
Here’s what balance looks like for us this Twixmas:
• No alarms — waking naturally, letting the nervous system settle
• Slow mornings and proper coffee, taken without distraction
• Nourishing meals simmering on the stove — simple, warming, grounding after the excess of Christmas
• Daytime baths
• Long walks or gentle jogs — movement for circulation, not achievement
• Daily A Fine Balance classes — mindful movement to recalibrate body and breath
• Moments of stillness and mindfulness — noticing what’s already here
• Gentle reorganising and light clearing — practising the yogic principle of Saucha (cleanliness) at home, making space for the year ahead
• Email and social apps deleted — choosing presence over noise
• Reading real books — rest for the mind
• Journaling what we want more of in 2026 — physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually with the goal of balance and peace
• Cuddles and full presence with loved ones
• Planning what January classes and workshops to attend at AFB
• Doing less — on purpose, so we are nourished and ready for 2026.
No resolutions.
No rush.
Just practices that support balance — now, and into the new year.
