Sound Bath Facilitator Training

Join Ben at A Fine Balance Saffron Walden for a complete weekend of sound bath facilitator training, bringing together the foundations of instrument playing and the skills to lead beautifully flowing group sessions.

Whether you’re a yoga or Pilates teacher looking to expand your offering, or completely new to sound, the Zen With Ben Method offers a practical, creative approach to building your confidence.

Grounded in musical understanding, safe instrument technique and thoughtful session delivery, you’ll learn to work with resonance, harmony, rhythm and flow — creating calming sound journeys with intention, rather than following a rigid formula.

What you’ll learn

Across the weekend, you’ll explore:

  • Safe handling, care and playing techniques for your instruments

  • Using mallets, striking and circling techniques to create clean, stable tones

  • Accessible music theory, harmony and chord progressions

  • Layering sounds and combining instruments

  • Building and softening intensity, with smooth transitions

  • Structuring a cohesive, full-length sound bath

  • Holding space for groups and delivering sessions confidently

  • Developing your own style through practical experience

Instruments & equipment

Crystal singing bowls form the foundation of the training, helping you understand tone, harmony and session structure.

Ideally, you’ll have access to at least two crystal bowls, preferably three. A full set of seven is recommended.

Already have other instruments? Bring them along. You’ll explore how Tibetan bowls, gongs, ocean drums, chimes, bells and other instruments can complement your crystal bowls and add texture to your sessions.

Accreditation

The training is IPHM accredited. Successful completion of the foundations and facilitation elements enables you to apply for public liability insurance to offer professional sound bath sessions, subject to your insurer’s requirements.

No previous teaching qualification or sound experience is required to attend the full Sound Bath Facilitator Training Weekend.
