Member Spotlight: Ranjita Sen - do give it a go, nothing to lose and over time a lot to gain.

Our Member Spotlight shines a little light on our members asking them to share a little about themselves. Hearing other people’s stories is inspiring especially when it relates to yoga ;-).

Thank you, Ranjita, for sharing yours - and thank you for being such a dedicated, positive and calming part of the A Fine Balance community.

Name: Ranjita Sen

Age: 50+

3 words to describe yourself:

Organised, calm and always devoted to the task in hand!

How long have you been practicing yoga?

On and off for about 15 years but only very regularly since being a member of A Fine Balance.

Why do you practice yoga?

It's a way to switch off and de-stress from what can be very busy days and have a bit of "me time", build strength and resilience and deal with those little niggles you often get in the body and generally come away just feeling a sense of calm and balance. Great way to wind down for the day or even to start your day.

What other things do you do to find balance in life?

A real stickler for "me time" so try to build this in at every opportunity, whether that's through going for a long walk, going for a massage or other treatment or even a family holiday or time away. Music is also another passion. As I get older I realise how much self care is so important.

What advice do you have for someone who is thinking about trying yoga? Do give it a go, nothing to lose and over time a lot to gain.

What is your favourite thing about being an A Fine Balance Member?

So great to be part of the Fine Balance community, convenient timings (morning and evenings) and small classes with friendly teachers where you are often given personal attention to your posture and poses.

Do you have a favourite inspirational quote or poem?

There are many but this one stands out

“Almost everything will work again if you unplug it for a few minutes, including you.” - Anne Lamott
